So I’m sure everyone heard the news by now, Electronic Entertainment Expo 2020, E3 2020, got canceled amidst Coronavirus (Covid-19) concerns. It’s been heavily rumored since yesterday, and an official statement by the Entertainment Software Association happened today. Going forward, Ubisoft released a statement where the company fully supports the ESA’s decision, and also announces that in place of its E3 2020 plans, options for a digital experience revealing exciting news are currently being explored:

E3 2020 was supposed to happen from June 9 to June 11. Meaning Ubisoft’s online-only event will probably be happening on one of those days. We’ll be sure to tell you when actual dates and hours are available. With that said, Ubisoft usually has a huge presence at E3, it was also one of the first publishers to share plans for the event. Meaning it’s highly possible there will be multiple Ubisoft online-only events happening on that time period.
It’s also important to note that Microsoft already announced a similar replacement for their E3 2020 presence is coming in the form of a digital event. More details will be shared in the upcoming weeks.
Lastly, as a reminder, PlayStation already announced some months ago they weren’t planning to participate in E3 2020. So the ESA’s decision to cancel the event doesn’t really change their plans. They didn’t have any plans for E3 in the first place. However, it’s likely PlayStation will be holding some kind of online event/stream as well, and I’d definitely bet on an announcement about it in the next few weeks.
