Doom Eternal cracks 100,000 concurrent players on Steam

4.3
Doom Eternal had a solid launch weekend on Steam.

Shortly after it launched on Friday, Doom Eternal cracked Steam’s top ten in concurrent players. The numbers kept going up, eventually settling on 104,891 concurrent players over the weekend.

That is over twice as high as Doom 2016’s peak, at 44,271. It’s also more impressive when you consider the fact that, unlike Doom 2016, Doom Eternal is not a Steam exclusive. In fact, the only way to get a Steam copy of Doom Eternal is to directly purchase it through the store.

All keys sold at online third-party retailers are for Bethesda’s own launcher. In other words, the actual concurrent number is much higher, but Bethesda’s launcher doesn’t offer any public tracking in the same way, so we may never know for sure. Bethesda even shipped a non-Denuvo protected version by accident, which didn’t seem to matter much in the end.

Good to see the player base at a somewhat high point for them but I give it a few weeks until it goes down a lot.

With all this quarantine shit you'd think the numbers would be higher. I mean this game just looks dope.
