“Our goals haven’t changed,” CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński tells investors in the company’s latest financial report. “First and foremost, we intend to release Cyberpunk 2077 in September. We feel motivated and have the necessary tools at our disposal to meet this goal. We also believe that our longstanding strategy of avoiding debt and accumulating cash reserves makes us well prepared to meet any hardships which may be in store during these troubled times.”
Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed earlier this year, from April 16 to September 17. At the time, the developers said the game was already “complete and playable”, though, obviously, “there’s still work to be done”. Major games like The Last of Us Part II have already entered into indefinite delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, though in that case the delay was due to logistical issues with distributing retail copies.
It remains to be seen what the world will look like in the next few months, much less the videogame industry, but it seems Cyberpunk 2077’s developers are confident in their ability to bring the game across the finish line despite the current conditions.

The devs are also starting to share a bit more on the game again after a brief drought of information, including details on one of the previously-unrevealed gangs.
