Terraria: Journey’s End is officially scheduled to launch on May 16, 2020. The update has been in the works for years, and was officially unveiled in its current form with a trailer for E3 2019. The image alongside today’s announcement confirms two new difficulty modes: the extra-tough Master setting, as well as Journey mode – a new difficulty setting that will work a bit like the creative mode in Minecraft, though not quite as open-ended.
The developers have been teasing new features for the expansion for ages, and you can browse wikis for the full list of changes – but it’s a lot. There are a load of new weapons, including an even-more-powerful sword, new furniture, new food items, new pets and minions, and even a lawnmower.
Stardew Valley creator Eric ‘ConcernApe’ Barone “can’t wait” until the 1.4 clubhouse is complete, incidentally – just as he’s started teasing Stardew Valley 1.5 in earnest.

Terraria initially launched all the way back in 2011, and a decade’s worth of updates are testament to just how popular the sandbox adventure has been.
