Perhaps you’ve been waiting for this week for a while, or perhaps it was only yesterday that you’d heard of the Travis Scott’s Astronomical event. One thing for certain is that a lot of people joined the event and wound up breaking an all-new concurrent player count record for Epic Games’ Fortnite.
Last night marked the first night of the event which is to span the weekend through to Saturday. However, despite it being the first night, Epic Games reported that over 12.3 million concurrent players were in attendance. Epic Games announced the figure through Twitter, and also reiterated that players can jump into an encore performance if they missed the initial time slot.

The event continues today with two more events to take place, one at 7am PDT and then later at 9pm PDT. The final night takes place on Saturday at 8am PDT and will hold the last show at 3pm PDT. Players are advised to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled time to secure themselves a slot.
If you’re curious about what the event is like, videos have been floating around online from those who were in attendance last night. It actually looks fairly entertaining and features Travis Scott’s character performing an unreleased track that’s still due to launch. Players get to watch his character performing while the world around them transforms and distorts.

As mentioned yesterday in our coverage, Travis Scott is the second artist to hold a concert inside of Epic Games’ Fortnite, with Marshmellow being the first. Hitting over 12.3 million concurrent players is absolutely insane, especially given how back in 2018 the record was 3.4 million concurrent players just for simply playing the game.
If you’re interested in taking part in the next event you can jump on today or tomorrow as well as also unlocking outfits, emotes, sprays, loading screens. However, it’s worth pointing out that to get the outfits and emotes, it’ll cost you V-Bucks, however by simply attending Travis Scott’s Astronomical event you’ll unlock a glider and two loading screens for free.
Fortnite is available for free on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
