Aswering a question on Twitter, the developers confirmed that Quantum Error will “100 per cent” feature real-time ray tracing- presumably they’re speaking of the game’s PS5 version, and not its PS4 release, since it’s the former that supports hardware ray tracing. Responding to another question asking if ray tracing is easy to implement for the game on the PS5, the developers suggested that it is indeed “pretty easy to implement.” You can check out both tweets below.
Quantum Error is currently in development for the PS4 and PS5, but doesn’t currently have a release date set in stone. The developers recently told us that though they remain focused on the game’s PlayStation launch for now, an Xbox Series X version down the road isn’t off the table.
In that same interview, they also spoke to us about how long the game will be and how the game will make use of the DualSense’s unique features, and told us that Quantum Error’s gameplay structure will be very similar to games like DOOM 3 and Dead Space.
Quantum Error WILL 100% use real-time ray-tracing.

It’s pretty easy to implement. The thing we have noticed is things have to be as perfect as possible when viewing things with ray-tracing as anything not done right is very obvious in this type of lighting and reflections.
