DICE Lashes Out at Angry BattleField 3 Fans

Things hit the fans recently on the BattleField 3 EA UK forums.

It seems that certain members of the community forum weren’t too happy when it was announced that Operation Metro was going to be the provided map during the beta testing period of the game. This announcement came AFTER DICE had previously claimed otherwise, that the Operation Metro wasn’t going to be used for beta. Apparently some fans had their hearts set on a different map to play during the beta ( one that would allow up to 64 players ) and became somewhat upset by the news.

When the complaints became loud a forum moderator shared his opinion on the matter:

Almost immediately after the mod hit the submit button on his post the entire thread was deleted, but not before someone made the above screen shot of it.

Was the mod’s response to the disgruntled fans in this case appropriate or over-the-top?

i know right, what do you expect from customers who want a taste of the game?
and i got MOH special edition, do i have the right to the beta, tbh i would of prefered a closed beta, it gets the HC players in and the noobs out

But seriously i can kind of understand why people moaned that the maps not included, but tbh i think people who pre ordered BF3 or got MOH special edition should get this map. All the leechers who get the beta for free should be happy with what they got.

I think that what they had to say is extremely relevant to most forums. Most people don't appreciate the work of others anymore. It's all about themselves..."gimme, gimme, gimme". And if you don't - you are flamed and hated. What's worse is if you do release something and some one edits your work (changes the names) and re-releases as their own. As the mod said - some things are a privilege and when people abuse it - they ruin it for everyone. Remember, and individual can be smart, but the masses are a$$es.
