EA delivers dig at Call of Duty franchise

Electronic Arts has delivered another sly dig on Activision's Call of Duty franchise.

Battlefield 3's beta test press release has given another low blow to their competitor once again as it states: "Go Above and Beyond the Call".

EA's Labels president Frank Gibeau recently said on the shooter's competition this holiday season:

"This Christmas we're definitely going to take market share in the FPS category from those guys. Customers like competition, they like these kind of heavyweight fights so were going for it."

Battlefield 3 is currently scheduled for a release on October 25th in North America and three days later in Europe. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, meanwhile, is currently scheduled for a worldwide release on November.

Dude It's very big difference between 30 and 60 fps..

If I had a dollar for every time someone said "Oh my god! it's only 30 FPS!!" (or something along those lines), and had no idea what the real difference is, I'd be a rich mother f**ker. Most console games are 30FPS. And my personal favorite (Halo) is also 30 FPS. And the Halo franchise has done more for the FPS (first person shooter) world than CoD or BF ever will.

And got to love BF3 Fan Babies. They assume just because someone thought a BF game sucked they were automatically a COD fan boy that likes the quick scope and no 360 no scopes.
Let's take into account the fact that Digsby complained about BF3 due to it being only 30fps. Now, what games do you know on consoles that play at 60fps? Call of Duty? I thought so.

So we can derive from his comment that he IS infact a CoD fanboy due to the fact that he used "30 fps" as his argument, which, may I add is a ridiculous one.

Before I got the second 580(for bf3) I would run metro 2033 at a steady 30 fps (locked it there) and then I got the second 580 and locked it at 60 fps.

When I did that I could BARELY see the difference. At all.
You need to learn the difference. I did and it's not that big of a deal. All of your favorite games other then cod Run at 30 fps.

Lol a core i7, bitch you couldnt even say which type you have, because you're making it up. Any other PC gamer knows a core i5 2500k is a much better buy because its $100 cheaper, and has the same performance in games, and that $100 can be used for a graphics card. I got 2x 6870s in CF which rune verything on max. One 580 cost $500, who the hell spends $1000 on graphics card...oh wait a 16 year old child with rich parents.

Im in college kid i cant be spending $1000 on graphics card. Oh and you're not a PC gamer ofc you cant tell the difference bewteen 30 and 60 fps. Put two games playing and 30 and 60 fps side by side, i and a bunch of other people could easily tell the difference. **** outta here.

Thank you for posting this. Why cant we go back to the good ol' days and just have fun playing the game. Plus everyone should agree the CoD devs need more time to make new engines to make their games even better then they already are. Also its the publishers talking smack, not the devs. Im not sure if anyone from DICE has played MW3, but someone from Infinity Ward thought that BF3 looks amazing.

play gears of war 3, then go straight to black ops, its such a big difference because of the FPS, everything feels 100x faster. its just unexplainable. but its definetly noticable


THE **** BRA?? FPS has NOTHING to do with "how fast the game is." It has to do with how smooth the transitions and movements are in said game. The reason they can achieve said 60 FPS is because there engine is 12 years old LMFAO. Here is the engine they still use:
