EA delivers dig at Call of Duty franchise

Electronic Arts has delivered another sly dig on Activision's Call of Duty franchise.

Battlefield 3's beta test press release has given another low blow to their competitor once again as it states: "Go Above and Beyond the Call".

EA's Labels president Frank Gibeau recently said on the shooter's competition this holiday season:

"This Christmas we're definitely going to take market share in the FPS category from those guys. Customers like competition, they like these kind of heavyweight fights so were going for it."

Battlefield 3 is currently scheduled for a release on October 25th in North America and three days later in Europe. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, meanwhile, is currently scheduled for a worldwide release on November.

Its like that for most games. We in NA will get it first. But you can still come to america when the game comes and buy it and then fly right back to great britian to play.

Dude It's very big difference between 30 and 60 fps..

If I had a dollar for every time someone said "Oh my god! it's only 30 FPS!!" (or something along those lines), and had no idea what the real difference is, I'd be a rich mother f**ker. Most console games are 30FPS. And my personal favorite (Halo) is also 30 FPS. And the Halo franchise has done more for the FPS (first person shooter) world than CoD or BF ever will.

And got to love BF3 Fan Babies. They assume just because someone thought a BF game sucked they were automatically a COD fan boy that likes the quick scope and no 360 no scopes.
Let's take into account the fact that Digsby complained about BF3 due to it being only 30fps. Now, what games do you know on consoles that play at 60fps? Call of Duty? I thought so.

So we can derive from his comment that he IS infact a CoD fanboy due to the fact that he used "30 fps" as his argument, which, may I add is a ridiculous one.

Clearly, the frame rate drops quite badly when action occurs. So this argument about 60 fps is rather moot.
not to mention your tv doesn't even run 60fps if its not HD and 60hz or higher

How do you know he isnt a gears of war fan..oh wait you dont. Annd 30 fps and 60 fps is a big difference, i can see the difference. I play some PC games, but of course your console kids wont see the difference.

Sparkzyy At the end of the day, MW3 will have more sales. Like it or not. Not cos it's the better game, but cos it has a bigger fanbase and it's a faster game online. Battlefield has sluggish motions such as knifing and pulling the bolt back on a sniper. That's why kid's like Cod. They don't appreciate the masterpiece that was Battlefield for it's other brilliant, original ideas. It plays like no other game whereas Cod plays like every other game. I'll still get MW3 and I'll enjoy it, but I have no intention of playing it like I did MW2.
