Speaking in a recent interview with CNET, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan gave an update on how that process coming along. Ryan said that Sony are still in the process of working with publishers and developers of testing the over 4000 games in the PS4’s library, and that so far, Sony are happy with the progress that’s being made.
“We said that the PS5 has been designed to play PS4 games,” Ryan said. “We’re going through the process with the publishers and developers testing that rather exhaustive library of over 4,000 games. We’re happy with the progress that’s been made.”
Sony have previously said that at launch, the PS5 will be able to play the vast majority of the games in the PS4’s library, so here’s hoping this process will keep moving at a good pace until then. The new console is expected to release this holiday.
