Battlefield 3 beta simultaneous players up 600% over BC2

The currently on-going beta testing of Battlefield 3 has proven to be massively successful for EA and DICE. In the second beta update on the series official blog, general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson says that DICE is seeing “6 times the number of simultaneous players in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta compared to the Beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2!”

The public beta kicked off less than a week ago.

To give some comparison, the Bad Company 2 sampler early last year was downloaded 2 million times in its first 5 days of availability.

The blog post also reiterates that the main purpose for the beta is to stress test the servers and backend, and that the game on show is based over a month old code, so bugs are to be expected; “the code you are now playing is actually quite early and not representative of the final game.”

“The final game will look, play and sound better than the Open Beta. You have helped making sure of that.”

I love how your taking MW3 insults and making them into BF insults. It is a over 1 month old code that the beta is running on. The graphics are tuned down in the beta, thats why they suck. Plus, how is BF3, BF2.5? There is a major change in...everything. Pretty sure you need some glasses or just give it another chance when it comes out. And besides, work a little bit better on your "Quotation" marks.

Portcullis Glad they said it'll be better but they got a hell of a lot of work to do. There are tons of glitches in the beta. Looking forward to it though :D

You dont need to worry about the bugs and stuff. They said its running on a more than a month old code, so they are already a month into fixing everything.

You do now its on 2 discs--- Meens Higher res textures and there not gonna put like 15 gig for a demo -_-

You DO realize its a ONE MONTH BUILD of the game, right? Thats why its all buggy and stuff. They're also testing their dedicated servers so that when the actual game is released it won't crash . Also, the Alpha was better then the Beta.
