Codemasters’ next big launch this year is Dirt 5 which is going to be the company’s first next-gen title as well. The new trailer from the upcoming off-road-focused racing game shows off the game’s time-trial mode in a Stampede track set in Arizona.
As Codemasters introduces, Stampede mode is home to hard tracks with natural landscapes that requires rough-and-ready cars for races. Up to twelve cars will compete with each other in this mode in Dirt 5. Here you can check out over 2 minutes of new gameplay footage from Stampede mode:
Aside from the mode itself, the visuals in the work-in-progress footage above seem fantastic. When accompanied by the ray-tracing feature, the world of the game looks alive and breathing. Besides, car physics and animations seem realistic enough for a semi-arcade racing title. We didn’t get the chance to have a look at the cockpit view of the car through the trailer above, but the outer design of the car looks solid and acceptable. The developer hasn’t mentioned which platform the footage above has been captured on.
Originally revealed at Microsoft’s Xbox Series X gaming showcase in May, Dirt 5 is going to make a big change in the series by widening its game modes and car classes, creating a detailed and expansive racing title for nearly all the popular segments available in the off-road tournaments around the world.
Featuring Nolan North and Troy Baker as voice actors, Dirt 5 is set to bring an ultimate story-based career experience that we haven’t seen in the series so far. A dozen car classes will be available in Dirt 5, featuring various vehicles from different well-known car manufacturers around the world.
Dirt 5 is set to be released on Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, and PC on October 9. Xbox Series X and PS5 versions of the game will be available as soon as the consoles hit the markets around the globe.
