Unlike Street Kids and Corpos, those who adhere to the Cyberpunk 2077 Nomad lifepath are completely unfamiliar with Night City.
According to today’s episode, Nomads are the type of people who experience their first kiss in a corn field somewhere deep in the unforgiving Badlands – which were recently revealed via official Cyberpunk 2077 concept art.
Unlike other people, Nomads often get to choose their own families in the deserts that stretch far away from the game’s corporate metropolis. However, according to the Nomad in the most recent Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, “[their] family’s in pieces, that’s why [they’re] headed for Night City.”
Upon arriving at Night City, however, Nomads become an “outcast among outcasts.” According to Weber, players who select Nomad for V’s lifepath will have a unique backstory: This V comes from a Nomad clan who used to roam the Badlands and value family above all else. However, they decide to leave for Night City for reasons unknown, and the beginning of their story is tied to successfully managing to find a way in.
While Corpos and Street Kids are more familiar with the day-to-day operations of Night City, Nomads come equipped with their own unique knowledge, too. For example, Weber describes a scene in which a group of Maelstrom gang members steal a flathead robot, and V is tasked with getting it back.
While corpos know the ins and outs of the people it was stolen from, and Street Kids are able to make a better impression on the Maelstromers, Nomads are in the know when it comes to analyzing how the gang pulled off the robbery in the first place, netting them a huge advantage over other characters.
