It’s set to be a big week for Activision and the teams behind this year’s release of Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. Not only are we set to get our first official look at the highly-anticipated shooter in two days on August 26, but it seems like we’ll be seeing even more of the game than originally expected this week at another venue.
That’s right, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is set to be shown off after its initial unveiling on Thursday during the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream. The news was revealed by the show’s host and producer, Geoff Keighley, today over on Twitter, where he simply confirmed that “a world premiere new look” at Black Ops: Cold War will be what is shown.
Don't miss a world premiere new look at @CallofDuty Black Ops - Cold War.

While this isn’t known to be true by any means, my own best guess for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War’s roll out this week will begin with an initial trailer that Activision releases on Wednesday. Then, the following day during Gamescom Opening Night Live, we’ll get a lengthier look at the title in the form of some extended gameplay footage. Obviously, this might not end up being the case, but it would make a lot of sense. Besides, considering how soon Black Ops: Cold War will seemingly be released, you’d think we’ll have to start seeing some gameplay footage for it pretty soon.
In the meantime, you can check out the initial teaser for this year’s Call of Duty down below. The game is set to launch at some point in 2020 and will be coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
