Modern Warfare 3′s engine is "a Porsche" Critics "Have No Idea"

Sledgehammer Games general manager Glen Schofield has responded again to criticism of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3′s ageing engine. “I’ve worked on a lot of engines over my lifetime and spent a lot of time putting graphics in to them and this thing is a Porsche,” Schofield told CVG.

“And what I mean by that is that it is stream-lined, everything in it is perfectly freaking clean. You can tell it’s been worked on for years. It’s easy to upgrade.

“We worked with engines before that are like fucking spaghetti. You can’t work on a part and put it back in without messing with everything else.

“I’ve said this before – I’m not shipping an engine, I’m shipping a game. So that’s why I’m going to talk about the game. You can talk about your engine all you want. It’s not fun.”

Schofield said that despite utilising the same engine, the upgradable nature of the tech means Modern Warfare 3′s levels are much bigger, and have greater verticality, than Modern warfare 2′s – on top of graphical improvements.

“If you put Modern Warfare 2 next to Modern Warfare 3 you would see a huge difference. Look at all the character models, look at all the gun models, look at the reflections, look at the water.

“There is so much that we’ve added, so when someone says ‘cut and paste’, I don’t even want to talk to them because they don’t know. They just don’t know. They have no idea.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 arrives on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November.

TacoElite CoD is a pick up and play game. Battlefield isnt. It takes time to get used to BF. Plus, battlefield has dinosaurs.

Face it. MW3 will sell more because it's a Call of Duty. People are going to talk shit and for one, COD is the longest running series that has had one of the best games every year if not the top game every year when released. Now yes I bet it will sell more, maybe itll be better, maybe itll be worse than BF3. Either way, the games are not out yet so don't be bitchen sayin that "oh mw3 is gonna be better" when you have no clue. Just play the damn game, if you dont like one, dont buy it and give your money to the companies. One last thing. If you bitch about Cod Black Ops and give it all these stupid names that may sound funny but ARE NOT, go try to make a game that would be 1/4 of how good black ops would be becuase you would not come close.

So you're telling me you'd rather play a game that sells more only because of the name? I'm getting both games but, I'm looking for quality I could care less if the guy next to me buys it. I just want a good game to play.

cod gets a large QUANTITY of sales because its QUALITY is better than bf. quality=quantity. if bf was as good as people say it is it would sell more than cod so stfu and wait till mw3 breaks sale records for the 3rd year in a row.
No matter what you think, BF3 will NEVER sell as much as MW3, the voice of BF3 was excited that they were compared to MW3. I'm getting MW3 and BF3 and to the first guy, you're right.

I'm seriously sick and tired with everyone comparing the two games. 'Ohhhhhh they're practically the same so we should compare them!!!' They're not practically the same, and yet they're still a bunch of dumbasses who think that they are. Why don't you stfu and STOP COMPARING them! Jesus Christ its all I see on this forum ohhh battlefield sucks, or yeah MW3 is gonna get its **** kicked. Heres a hint NO ONE CARES. CoD sells more because of just **** stupid sheeple who can't think for themselves and just get what they're friends are playing, and don't appreciate games for their actual quality.
