Microsoft YouTube channel hacked?

Microsoft’s official YouTube channel appears to have been taken over by someone not affiliated with the company, who has removed all of the videos and posted solicitations for sponsorships, apparently anticipating an influx of traffic as the news spreads.
I subscribed to the company’s YouTube updates and received notification this morning of two new uploads by the company, both of them rudimentary videos apparently soliciting advertisements for the channel. Since then a third video has been uploaded, along the same lines.
The background on the channel has been replaced and all of the company’s archived videos, including those for its newly launched advertising campaign, have been removed.
A message on the channel reads, “I DID NOTHING WRONG I SIMPLY SIGNED INTO MY ACCOUNT THAT I MADE IN 2006 :/”

Microsoft's account was not hacked. Some random person made an account named "Microsoft" before Google bought Youtube.
Since then, Microsoft (the company) got control of this address and the original account holder was given the boot. Looks like they didn't deactivate the original login credentials though.
All he did was log-in.

This is how he "hacked" the channel:

He legittly made the account Microsoft when youtube wasn't that big but the REAL Microsoft probably asked Youtube to disable it and give it to them. The flaw is that this account was probably still linked to this kid's email and microsoft forgot to change it or whatever.

So all this kid had to do was recover this account using his old email.

Not that hard. Thats probably how the other big Channels got "hacked".
