The company’s public technology preview for cloud gaming, which was previously referred to as Project xCloud, launched in beta in September as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
With a compatible controller, it enables users to play over 100 Xbox games on Android devices directly from the cloud.
The ability to stream Game Pass titles on Xbox consoles and PC is also being worked on, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed on Twitter.
“Yes, we want to do this,” he said. “It’s in the long list of cool things the xCloud team is working on, just a bit further down the list. But we want console and PC players to be able to browse as easily as mobile players, it’s a good gamepass feature.”
Microsoft recently confirmed that the EA Play service will be added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate starting on November 10, the day Xbox Series X and S launch.
The service, which will make a library of Electronic Arts titles available to play as part of the existing Ultimate subscription, will be added later in December for PC.
Priced at $14.99/£10.99, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines Xbox Live Gold membership with Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.
