Modern Warfare 3 Prestige Shop Available Immediately at Launch

Most of you, by now, have heard about the day-one prestige tokens you can spend in Prestige Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. What some of you may not have known is that you will have access to the prestige shop from day one.

Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling confirmed today via Twitter, that the prestige shop is "accessible anytime as long as you have Prestige Tokens to use in it. So if you have 4 tokens on day 1, you can use them." Of course, those tokens he's referring to allow you to unlock things like an extra custom class, or allow you to "choose one piece of gear from your custom class to keep unlocked from rank 1 of future prestiges."

It should be noted that if you prestiged in any of the previous Call of Duty games: Modern Warfare, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, or Black Ops, you will receive associated day-one prestige tokens to spend in Modern Warfare 3 on launch day. If you haven't then you must earn these prestige tokens by prestiging in Modern Warfare 3.

Up until now, everyone has assumed that you'd need to prestige before having access to the shop, but now it appears you'll be able to buy extra custom class slots, higher-tier weapons, etc. on day one.

"Prestige Mode (the ability to prestige) is unlocked at 80, but if you have tokens already. The stores open," confirmed Robert Bowling today.

Get it? It's all about prestiging in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3!

They said on the forums that you (MW3 forums on COD.com) that you will get only 1 token per user, no matter the amount of prestiges and games you did in. Even with max prestige on all previous cods you will only get one token.

Plebe Okay here is to answer your questions every time you have prestiged in Blackops WaW Cod4 and Mw2 it counts as 1 Prestige token in MW3 so if you are highest prestige in all said games then you will have 45 tokens. my guess is that some items will be worth from 1-10 tokens depending on when your actually supposed to unlock the item in MW3 so if you decide on day 1 you want gold camo at level 1 every time you prestige it will cost around 10-15 prestige tokens on the first day of launch because you are ACTUALLY supposed to unlock it at lets say level 60. Hope this helps again just my thoughts but it makes alot of sense!


Shut up and talking out your ****. You're completely wrong. You get ONE-1 prestige token for every COD game you prestiged in. So if you prestiged in every COD Game you get FOUR-4 prestige tokens.

People are probaly also going to ask if you get banned from MW3 online for being 11th prestige in WaW. No you won't, and if you actually believed you did, you're a ****.
