Updates for both PS4 and PS5 games were released overnight and allow players to manually export their save files from the last-gen title and then import them on PS5.
“Just to be clear. You must use the PS4 game to export your save. Remastered cannot see a save until it is exported by the PS4 game,” explained community manager James Stevenson.
The Spider-Man Remastered update also includes ray-tracing improvements and “many additional fixes,” according to Insomniac’s patch notes, including the resolution of a crash which occurred when putting the game into rest mode.
On PS4, the Spider-Man update adds three new suits from the remaster.
Overnight we released an update for Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 bringing those suits, and the ability to export your save to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

Currently, the only way to access Spider-Man Remastered is via the $70/£70 Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, which comes bundled with a download code for Remastered and all three instalments of the The City That Never Sleeps DLC.
Current-gen owners who purchase Miles Morales can upgrade to the ‘standard’ next-gen version for free or pay an additional $20 fee to receive the Ultimate version which includes the remaster.
Sony said in September that it has “no plans currently to offer Marvel’s-Spider-Man: Remastered as a standalone” release.
