The publisher claimed on Friday that November’s Black Ops Cold War enjoyed a record-setting launch, although it didn’t provide metrics.
Speaking about the franchise as a whole, it said Call of Duty recorded its biggest November ever for monthly players and hours played.
Call of Duty has attracted over 200 million players and generated over $3 billion in net bookings over the past year, according to Activision.
Year-to-date net bookings are up over 80% and units sold are up over 40%, it said.
“The momentum over the last year across the Call of Duty ecosystem from free-to-play Warzone as well as post-launch support of Modern Warfare, and now to Black Ops Cold War has been incredible,” said Call of Duty general manager Byron Beede.
“Launch is only the beginning. We are focused on building a continuous pipeline featuring a tremendous amount of free, post-launch content and events across the franchise.”
Black Ops Cold War Season 1 launches on December 10, which is when Activision plans to start integrating Treyarch’s game into Warzone.
The free-to-play shooter has now attracted over 85 million players, according to the publisher.
Activision released a Black Ops Cold War Season 1 roadmap last month promising additional multiplayer maps and modes, new weapons, and fresh Zombies modes.
It also teased a “classified Warzone experience”, which will introduce a new location called Rebirth Island, according to dataminers.
Treyarch recently released a Black Ops Cold War update which increased weapon XP earn rates. It’s planning new double XP events in December too.
