Battlefield 3 CM Congratulates Modern Warfare 3 for “Best Shooter” Award

Daniel Matros’ reaction to Modern Warfare 3 winning the VGA’s best shooter of the year.

Last night, Modern Warfare 3 pipped Battlefield 3 to win the VGA’s best shooter of the year. Battlefield 3′s global community manager, Daniel Matros, congratulated Modern Warfare 3 for winning the award. He went on to say that Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games “made one hell of a game.” However, in Matros’ “heart and mind” Battlefield 3 is “still number one.” Matros must be glad that he dodged a tea-bagging. It should be noted that neither shooter was nominated for the game of the year category, and Skyrim snagged that trophy. On the multiplayer front, Portal 2 was the winner against the two FPS games mentioned above and Gears 3.

onebaddeck you know why it is the best shooter of the year.............because it has call of duty as its name. for a example if you took battlefield and put mw3 on it and sold it at release it would sell just as good

iLaYouTx I clearly disagree.

Why?

Battlefield always makes fun and nobody cares about how good somebody is.

Call of duty makes everybody raging and I don't know any guy who doesnt care about his kd.
True that
I'll get mw3 for christmas, but I already played it at some friends.
Playing mw3 is always good and makes fun, but playing bf3 with your friends gives you an awesome feeling.

But damn..

- MW3 has more sales then BF3
- BF3 doesn't have more online players then Black Ops...
- And as the article said MW3 got shooter of the year.

But yet it's a bad game...that doesn't make sense.

1.Quallity over quantity
2.BF3 has 900K+ players everyday more than MW3
3.It was a good shooter.

1. Opinion and preference =/= quality
2. XBL Activity This Week ( AKA games with the most online players.

3. Skyrim
4. Battlefield 3

There are many different awards for these titles, I'm not going to fight for either side as I enjoy both games, however, one award, does not make one game better than another. Both games have their specific audiences, just depends on which one you fit into.
