Modern Warfare 3 update addresses lag, certain glitches

Good news, soldiers: The multiplayer component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has received its sixth title update since the game's launch; a patch which addresses lag and a number of glitches players have been exploiting for their own nefarious, personal gain. Gone are the days of melee-jumping, as well as clan tags which use the controller's symbols to spell dirty words. (Bal[LS] indeed, sir.)

A number of guns have also been tweaked (see: nerfed) as hotfixes introduced to the title. You can check out a full list of these readjusted armaments after the jump, and pray that your precious, precious firearm evaded the developers' all-seeing eye.

Title update: Additional improvements to address lag. Fix for Melee Jump. Clan Tag Validation (remove buttons from clan tags). Improve Host Migration logic. Prevent stat loss when player loses connection from server (internet pull / drop).

Hot Fix Updates
  • Fire rate normalization for Assault Rifles with undermounts
  • FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)
  • Akimbo FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)
  • Fix for Shotgun's with Extended Mags (Prevents them from shooting more pellets than intended)
  • Type95 Re-balancing (Nerf) - Reduce hipspread.
  • Fix for ACR with Red Dot / Shotgun
  • Fix Type 95 bug related to dropping it.
  • Fix map exploits on Dome

    Why change?? Honestly they ruined the Model 1887 on MW2, now they aren't even akimbo able.

    well the patch doesn't say it reduced the power and fire rate of the type 95 it just made it harder to get have a successful hip fire with it, and its not Overpowered, its just a great gun at mid-long range because that's what 3 round burst guns are supposed to be good at, close range the type-95 is easily beaten by: Shotguns, Sub machine guns, and even machine pistols.


    I hope you realized after you put this comment, that it didnt make it harder to "get have" a successful hipfire with it,it says REDUCED hipspread, the bullets spread less so its EASIER to get a hipfire kill. and the only "overpowered" gun is the AK, but its balanced with its recoil even with "Kick" on it.

    Oh not overpowered? Oh OK so i guess the FMG9s aren't overpowered as well right? A gun that has 55 damage and 1000 RPM per burst seems a bit much. It needs to be at least 40 damage and 700 RPM. The Type 95 is overpowered up close and starts to suck outside its 55 damage range then it becomes a 2 burst kill.

    I would like to see you take 3 bullets to the chest and not die. The damage of the gun doesn't matter if all 3 bullets hit.

    theartofkc Lol 6 updates and its only been a month wow


    Just because its had 6 updates doesnt mean its bad.. its because they are patching stuff very quickly instead of leaving it like every other game for a few month and then do one big update


    srry but 6 updates in a month is pretty bad considering that's like a patch a week

    my prob isnt so much with the patching even though i still think its pretty bad.

    Its the fact that almost all of these issues should have been found before the game went gold
