Securifi and their new Touchscreen WiFi Router - Almond

4.8
The team over at Securifi this week while at CES unveiled a prototype of their upcoming WiFi Router that is sporting a touchscreen on the device itself. The Taiwan based designer, Securifi, has hopes that this product will catch on with the common home user and has stated that we should be expecting a few more models if the first revision performs well with consumers. For more information and a first look at this great product read more!

So we'll get straight to the specs of this bad boy for those tech first minded readers.

  • 802.11 b/g/n
  • 300 Mbps
  • 2.8″, 320 x 240 Touchscreen
  • Connection Security Types Offered: WEP, WPA, WPA2
  • WiFi Range: Up to 25 Meters
  • Processor: 384MHz, MIPS Architecture
  • Ports: 1 WAN, 2 LAN
  • Allows up to 50 users at a time

The router is being released in a few months time, the price, although still entirely speculation and/or a guess, is expected to be within the range of 60 and 80 USD. This information has been derived from a conversation we had when we caught up with the company's Vice President of Software , Devesh Rai. We also talked to him about being able to update the device itself without needing to use the browser based control panel that is also included with the router. At the current stage of development it does not have such a feature but it is something they are thinking about. So keep checking here for future updates on this product and we might even do a contest for one after it's launch!

And now we'll get to some actual photos of this tiny machine.

We here at TheTechGame.com hope that this item really takes off with consumers so we can see further revisions down the line with more features and hardware ports! Best of luck Securifi!

As long as it actually works and does the job it's designed to do this should be amazing. I already want one. I guess they hope it to be a massive hit considering they are putting such a low price tag on it, knowing that people will buy anything if it's cheap enough.

Can't wait for this.
