Xbox 720 Will Be Six Times as Powerful as Current Gen

The next Xbox will ship to retailers in late October or early November of next year with six times the processing power of the Xbox 360, sources close to the project have told IGN. Following initial reports from tech blogs Fudzilla and SemiAccurate, our sources have confirmed that mass production of the system's GPU will indeed begin by the end of 2012 but will not, however, be based on AMD's 7000 series Southern Islands GPU. Instead, the processor will be derived from the 6000 series, which was introduced last year. More specifically, it will be akin to the Radeon HD 6670, which offers support for DirectX11, multidisplay output, 3D and 1080p HD output. The chip currently has a market price of upwards of $79.99.
In real terms, the Xbox 720's raw graphics processing power is expected to be six times that of the Xbox 360 and will yield 20-percent greater performance than Nintendo's forthcoming console, the Wii U.
Developers are likely to receive development kits based on the system's final configuration in August. Projected pricing for the console was not provided.

Sadly that's a lie the PC community is smaller compared to the xbox community but it's more than 200k, go to the steam website in the past 48 hours more than 3 million people logged in and played games...plus our PC community is a lot nicer, friendly.

Meant to Say PC has the same+more in the graphics dept, we have the same if not better gameplay because we can upgrade EVERYTHING, and Steam> XBL it's free, and you have pretty much the same features as XBL, you don't know ****.

Graphics don't make PC great. It's the freedom. On console, you have to buy from their overpriced marketplace, and otherwise pay for stuff you would get for free on PC. It's not necessarily a huge investment either, you could build a decent rig under $500, and you would end up saving money considering all the holiday sales/pirated games, etc...

Agreed I love Steam. And PC gaming isnt dying anytime soon. There are 4 Million people on just STEAM! Alone. PC gaming is growing its becoming more and more affordable as technology grows.

Why create a new console when you just modified it. Like PS2 there was NO way to update it to change the dashboard. It seems like i have a whole system with the recent update and its seems ridiculous when people are just spending they're hard earned money on new games just to get a new console if they wanna fit in. I will buy a new system but only if the price is right. They should of just stuck that 6670 in the new Xbox slims then released them.
