This year’s Call of Duty to bring ‘meaningful genre innovations’

That Activision will release yet another Call of Duty this year will come as no surprise. But would you raise an eyebrow if they were to say that they were working on “meaningful innovations” for this year’s game?

That’s what they say.

The company is “laser-focused on raising the bar with this year’s new Call of Duty,” it was said on the company’s earnings call yesterday.

“This year we expect to further expand our presence with the launch of an all-new epic first-person shooter title under the Call of Duty brand. From what we’ve seen to date, the game already looks fantastic and will bring meaningful innovations to the franchise.”

This year’s game is rumored to be Black Ops 2, coming once more from Treyarch. Nothing official yet, of course; it’s still Modern Warfare 3‘s turn.

Bungie Made Halo, Just because Reach wasn't as good as 3 doesn't mean they ruined it.


If it weren't for Bungie, Halo wouldn't be here right now. imo, Halo is better than any cod due to the fact that every single one "feels" like a new game whereas CoD is just: "Yeah, I have MW9 and it's exactly the same besides two maps and three guns"

I Totaly F*ckin agree thats why i stopped buying CoD back when Mw2 came out

Agreed all treyarch needs to do is made 4 or 5 new zombie maps and put all of them on one disc sell it for $40-$50 and I'd be awesome a game with nothing but zombies. Now that would sell

But there also the reason CoD is as famous as it is today. yes they made some things bad, but i think the people who play the game ruin it more than the Co. who made it.I can go on arguing about that so i wont but anyway, I actually can wait for the next CoD and dont want to hear much about it now because its too early and im still enjoying Mw3 at times.but glad to see they are trying to do more different things to another CoD so we aren't stuck buying an updated version of an old game with a different title...
