No Fix for CoD4 Hacks Soon, MW3 Playlist Limitations

Infinity Ward Creative Strategist, Robert Bowling, comments on the state of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and answers burning questions about the future of Modern Warfare 3.

Many “CoD heads” to this day still proclaim Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare the peak of the Modern Warfare — or even the entire Call of Duty franchise — and still play it lovingly. The community is definitely alive among PC players but the same cannot be said for their console brethren. If you’ve revisited the original Modern Warfare on either the PS3 or Xbox 360, chances are you’ve come across more than a fair share of hacked lobbies. The big question many fans have right now is why are these hackers not being addressed? ”Priorities are given to newest games with higher player counts.” Stated Bowling. He added, “doesn’t mean we won’t but only have so much resources and time.” So while there is still a chance of something being done about this loathsome plague of online gaming, gamers will have to wait until Modern Warfare 3 nears perfection.

Speaking of Modern Warfare 3, Bowling recently answered some burning questions regarding its future.

“Can we get an aim assist enable/diable feature added? There is an option for it in survival but not multiplayer,” asked one fan. Bowling explains, “It’s been discussed but we aren’t fans of it in MP because it leads to players having different experiences.” If you’ve been wondering why a limit is placed on the number of available playlists in MW3, Bowling explains that “there is a philosophic reason and technical. 1st – too many playlists hurts matchmaking. Also limit from code standpoint.” Many fans have also been pleading for older Modern Warfare maps to make their way into the upcoming MW3 DLC. Bowling explains, ”I can’t commit to that. Right now I can only commit to what we’ve announced which is Piazza, Liberation, and Overwatch.”

Bud you got your dates wrong. Modern Warfare (CoD4) release date was November 5th 2007, it didn't come out in 2006. -_-
You probably just googled it. At least he used his memory. and it came out at the end of the year of 06, so its a understandable mistake.


I didn't google it, I've been playing Call of Duty since MW first came out. Also, being a whole year off isn't understandable.
Your stupid its like 3 months off, also they said they were working on fixing the mods back last summer check the old news posts

Finally someone who agrees with me, CoD2 was the best, but don't get me wrong their was the fair share of quick scoping in CoD2 but that was because everyone used the bolt-action rifles, some times without a scope mostly with one though. I also remember that all your bullets went straight so it was easy to get no-scopes from across maps... CoD2 FTW :)

It was the fairest CoD game to date and I know everyone thinks CoD4 is the best but just think about it, CoD4 had it's bullshit stuff in it. Some glitches for example which most of you probably don't remember. I remember the elevator glitches, all the maps you could get out of, the freeze glitched that allowed you to get almost anywhere on the map. They all got patched but still at the time it was bullshit, and some of the perks they added in were ridiculous. Juggernaut for example, was a perk that pissed a lot of people off, all the noobs using 3 frag. There's more but i've made my point, I think CoD2 was the best because it was the most fair, and didn't have any game breaking glitches if I remember correctly...

COD4 for to me is the only fun COD. I prefer to play Treyarch games , like WAW and Black Ops . The reason for that is because MW2 and MW3 is about Killstreaks in the air . Treyarch games were more gun on gun . People actually tried to get better at the game . I thought MW3 was going to be so good but I thought wrong . MW3 is broken , just because someone can go 20-43 and still get a couple of killstreaks using the support package . I also hate the way that the Call Of Duty series are separated into two different companies . Maybe in Treyarch and Infinity Ward work together to make a COD game that game would be AMAZING .
