Robert Bowling Sympathizes With Modern Warfare 3 Fans Over DLC Exclusivity
If you look at the current set up that Activision has set up for DLC, CoD: Elite Premium members receive DLC before Non-Premium members. Xbox 360 Elite Premium members receive DLC before anyone else, even before Premium members on other platforms. This is obviously the result of a marketing deal between Activision and Microsoft. Now, Xbox 360 CoD: Elite Premium members number at around 1.5 million players. Compare that to the 20 million Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players. Naturally, the 18.5 million players who aren’t CoD: Elite Premium members on the Xbox 360 are going to be pretty upset and according to Bowling’s conversations, he agrees.
What does this mean? Nothing really. This type of marketing scheme is out of the hands of Infinity Ward, Sledghammer Games and Raven Software, all developers of Modern Warfare 3. However, at least this proves that Modern Warfare 3 fans aren’t crazy after all, and that at least one person over on the other end of the developmental wall feels the same way.
It looks Call of Duty fans around the world will simply have to wait until the day DLC is dropped simultaneously across all platforms. Unfortunately, given the current trends in the videogame industry, this doesn’t seem likely.
Bowling also sympathizes with fans when it comes to Modern Warfare 3 updates. Lately, the recent patches have also been released at separate times with the PS3 and PC versions constantly being delayed. ”I wish we could get to a place where its day and date updating,” mentioned Bowling. Meaning, he wishes he could give us actual dates for incoming patches. He added, “DLC is one thing but patches should not be delayed.”

Honestly, you cant complain about having to wait so long. They told us from the start about Elite and in my opinion, you save money by getting it instead of buying MSP. I would also be mad if i had to wait that long for a map pack, but there's nothing you can do but go buy Elite...

its not that people want the maps at the same time as elite, its the fact that the maps suck and they should stop and make other type of dlc. then you'll recieve positive comments hint hint weapon dlc hint hint

whats the point of point of dragging the DLC for more people to buy elite. Seriously, Sledgehammer is terrible at making games anyway.

Hurleh Yeahh I've been 10th prestige for nearly a month now and I dont have a Map pack because im not a premium member. I dont want to waste 35 on it thats nearly as much as a new game. I think its stupid how we have to wait like 2 months after when they have about 3 mappacks. Just saying.
Btw: It's not 3 map-packs, it's 3 MAPS.

its like all the people who pay for xbox live you get more features then the ones who just buy an xbox. you pay more so you should get more, dont complain because you feel like only buying the game but not elite

I can only sympathize for PS3 players. To the non premium members though, get over it.
