MW3 Dev Considers Non-Lethal Deathstreaks For Next CoD

4.1
Recently, the Call of Duty community has been rather vocal about their view of the inclusion of Deathstreaks in the Modern Warfare series, originally introduced in Modern Warfare 2.

If you missed it, Creative Strategist, Robert Bowling, recently shared his views about deathstreaks like Final Stand, which got some dialogue (hopefully constructive) happening between fans and himself.

In case you haven’t noticed, much of the community, especially the vocal ones, share a general dislike (dare I say hatred?) of the inclusion of Deathstreaks which Bowling has been taking into consideration lately. Though, he does argue that “stats show people use Deathstreaks (lethal ones) a lot.” Earlier, he mentioned that it’s simply a compromise that MW3 developers had to agree on. Luckily, it seems the developers are open to change. Though Deathstreaks will not be taken out of Modern Warfare 3, or perhaps even in the next instalment of the series, Bowling admits that “they could be rebalanced.” For example, when asked if it’s possible that the blast radius of Dead Man’s Hand be lowered, Bowling answered, “it’s possible, we’re always looking at balancing. No plans announced currently though.”

To be more specific, it seems that it’s the lethal Deathstreaks like Final Stand and Dead Man’s Hand that the community mostly has a grudge against. Bowling would tell you, “I agree, two of my least favorite deathstreaks. They’re here to stay for MW3,” unfortunately. At least non-lethal ones like Copycat and Juiced still give an unlucky/unskilled player a boost in performance without having such a negative effect on other players. To fans who have thought that it would simply be better if all Deathstreaks were non-lethal, Bowling states, “I agree.” He added, “the best thing players can do is stop using them. If we see people prefer non-lethal over lethal = Change.” He went on to mention that, “every game is unique, there’s no reason to think [Deathstreaks] would or would not be in any future iteration. Feedback does help shape that.” It is likely that developers will consider this for their next title in the Call of Duty franchise, which you know there will be.

Here’s to non-lethal Deathstreaks in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4!

Deathstreaks never bothered me to be honest, except for Final Stand.
Not only does it trick you in thinking you killed someone, it's an instant drop shot, lol.

Deathstreaks need to go. Why should players be rewarded for doing poorly? I should't have to kill a guy once then kill him AGAIN only to be blown up. Its not fair to the skilled players such as myself.
