Halo 4′s "Perk" System Clarified, "Classic Halo is Still There"

With Halo 4′s multiplayer having only been revealed just a couple days ago, controversy has already managed to find its place among the Halo community. Yesterday, it was revealed that Halo 4 would include some sort of “perk” system which many fans instinctively compare directly to the Call of Duty franchise. Understandably, it would be disappointing for die-hard fans of the Halo universe to see their franchise adopt gameplay similar to that of another, losing its unique identity. However, Franchise Director, Frank O’Connor, urges fans to avoid jumping to conclusions.

O’Connor recently clarified on the NeoGaf forums that “there aren’t ‘perks’ in the game as being described here. And classic Halo is still there. But there are things we will be rolling out soon to put all of this discussion in a much better perspective and I suspect calm frayed nerves.” He later added, “…we didn’t mention them. That’s why I put it in quotes. That term was coined by someone else to interpret stuff they saw in the UI [User Interface]. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and to be expected during announce fervor. And yes, it’s partly our fault since we re rolling out more information about this stuff at a later time.”

Two_Faced I love Halo 2/3! Imagine how good it could be with a few "perks" added, I put perks in perinthises because I dint wan't them to be like cods but I would like to see, something like; ghost, lightweight, slight of hand, and Marathon. I think it would make the gameplay faster but still keep the four shot kills like in halo 2/3. And they need to keep the ranking system like in halo2.

I belive halo 4 will be an epic game, I believe it will beat call of duty BY FAR. also it will beat BF3

In all honesty, I doubt anything is going to beat CoD. Every new CoD makes more in the first week than the last did, and Black Ops is the most-sold Xbox 360 game ever. But beating BF3, sadly, would not be much of a statement.
But the Halo franchise is an Xbox only series of titles and to sell as much as it does, on one system especially is remarkable, now go ride CoD's nuts a little more.

Wow you are an idiot. The ''main guy'' Is not called Halo. He is called Spartan 117 '' John '' Master Chief. Halo is jsut the universe the is set in.
Yeah, the Halos are the names for the giant ring worlds Halo CE and part of 2 were took place.

No its still bungie, what happened is. Bungie had a contract that they couldn't make another halo with master chief. So some employees from bungie made 343 studios and to basically get around the contract.

What Bungie Didnt make 343i, 343i Is within microsoft

All the halos (excluding ODST) Were really good or really amazing and changed the way of shooting games. I hope halo 4 outdoes halo 3 even more. I would enjoy having Firefight in 4.

Pool Why didnt they just make new maps, make a new campaign, and keep the game just like Halo 3? It would be so much better...and easier for them.


And that's why halo is nothing like cod, they are willing to try new things that in the end give the fans a better experience with the game. unlike cod they like to make everything as new as possible.
