There are no plans for Halo 4 to receive a public beta, 343 Industries announced in a Q&A with franchise development director Frank O' Connor. He answered a slew of fan questions about Halo 4, revealing that it would be possible to play Grifball, that there would not be a color-blind mode (though considerations for that audience have been made in art decisions), and a few other tidbits.
In related Halo 4 news, Microsoft recently won a legal battle against the bogus website Halo4beta.net, but as there won't be a Halo 4 beta we don't expect it to be put back into official use any time soon. Microsoft has also filed a complaint against Halo4beta.biz.

There's plenty of testing done before a game ever gets to a beta stage...so many n00bs.
Like we don't know this? Of course they test it a great amount, but they don't always fix everything. Not only this but a beta could also make it unnecessary for a lot of future updates to patch, or fix a certain map glitch etc.

Benefits from a beta are minimal. The only reason people complain is b/c they're mad they can't play the game early.
Plus the majority of people who participate aren't even doing what they're supposed to do, report bugs/issues. They just play and then jump online to rage about things that were changed from the last entry. Happens with every beta. Public beta if anything is a gift to the community and people abuse it - Not saying that's what it's intended for, but that's what it has become b/c of whiny gamers. So whats the point? Honestly, did you report bugs to Bungie for Reach's beta? Or did you just get on ttg and rage like everyone else?

I enjoyed the BF3 Beta. a Halo4 Beta would be so fun. i guess its for the better that there is no Beta... :(
This may not be the case but by them not releasing a beta it leads me to believe there are afraid it might hurt sales. It makes them look like they are depending on the franchise name, they might be afraid they dropped the ball. Lets hope they release a lot of footage.
Jigee Bad idea having no beta. That's why the game have so few glitches on release because of beta. It almost makes me a little apprehensive about purchasing this title. Although I don't believe that H4 could be worse than HR. With or without a beta.
It will be fine without a Beta, Halo 2 had no beta and it came out wonderful. :]
