infinity ward made cod 1 and 2, I never played them, but heard they were good.

Treyarch made cod 3 and I heard it was absolutely terrible.

IW made cod 4, the best game in the series

Treyarch makes WAW using COD4 code, I'm pretty sure infinity ward wasn't happy they had to give them their game code. WAW is also a carbon copy of COD4. So how exactly is treyarch making 'better games' The only thing that was added was zombies and that was expected to not really pan out.

IW makes MW2, they update the graphics, add new perk system (pro perks etc), add new killstreaks etc etc. They try to make the game better. While I don't necessarily agree with everything (Pain pills lol) it was still a great game.

Treyarch makes BO, It was a decent game, Again they took the safe route pretty much taking the good from mw2 and adding a few things like a money system which was kinda stupid and whatever. The wager matches were fun though. It was kinda laggy and stuff.

IW makes mw3, I think its pretty good, but I'm getting kind of tired of FPS/cod after like 4 years of playing it and not much else. The new point streak system is nice for worse players.

My point being IW is the trailblazer, Treyarch is the moocher riding IW coattails. It'd be nice to see treyarch man up and take some risk on a COD game.

This won't follow out. They're nearing the end of development, they couldn't sue the game at this point. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since the game is this far into development, suing Treyach for this specific purpose can lead to Treyach's ability to sue IW for multiple reasons. Not sure if this is a rumor or not, but I honestly don't think this will happen. They are too far into production to stop it now. Also, they have ties with Gamestop and preordering, already they have gotten thousands of pre orders. They would have to end the tie with Gamestop, and cause multiple problems with that. Also, they have released the trailer onto live television, and ads across websites, they couldn't just restart. I'm sure this won't carry out.

They are just abiding by law/contract. The other company broke the contract, so now they're going to do whatever necessary to get proper judgement.

You can't just bend the rules and expect to get away scott-free. Assuming that you can do whatever you want just because you got rid of the main people in your way just doesn't cut it.

**** Infinity Ward... let Blops2 be release and spend the next couple of years finding a GOOD team, developers and what not. Mw3 was so god awful and that's because you had terrible companies helping, spend a year at least getting a good company together again, and please oh please don't have any BS in your next game, as for the treyarch violation, who cares anymore? Allow them to make games about any wars, just not a sequel or trilogy to your story lines, other wise treyarch will fail, then you guys will be looked upon to deliver games every year and when you cant do that anymore you will fail and the Call of Duty will be nothing but a memory.

Call of Duty 4, and World At War are what created it and anything after that ruined the franchise.

Ill admit that Infinity ward did a great job on call of duty 4 my favorite cod next too World at war but you know hackers ruin everything :/.

Agreed, it's quite unfortunate. I'd rather play either of those over the newest games.
