The news was initially released on November 5th via a series of tweets from the official Monster Hunter Twitter account. The tweets today serve as a reminder for any players still needing to complete the collaboration quests that the clock is ticking.
The Assassin's Creed Collaboration Event was released in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on December 4, 2020. Much like the following Monster Hunter movie event, it was set to last a year and will end on December 3. The quest "SDF: Silent, Deadly, and Fierce" was added and is an 8-star quest level requiring HR14 or higher to participate. It is a Special Arena quest that pits the player against an Odogaron, Deviljho, and finally a Lunastra. Completion rewards the player with Senu's Feather, which is required to craft the Assassin's Hood Mantle and the Bayek Layered Armor. The Assassin's Hood Mantle increases movement speed and allows the user to hide quicker.

The Monster Hunter movie collaboration was released in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on December 4, 2020. It was a year-long deal with the movie production company that saw players live out Artemis' (voiced by Milla Jovovich) return to the fantastic lands of Monster Hunter World. To access it, players would need the Iceborne expansion and be rank MR1 or higher. The quests are "A New World" and "To Our World." Successful completion will reward the player with Artemis's Notebook which is required for crafting the Artemis layered armor. Logging in during the event will also award players with 30 Ancient Potions, 30 Dust of Life, 10 Golden Eggs, 3 True Armor Spheres, and 1 Earplug Jewel+4.
Collaboration Events are a fun addition that have been around for nearly every iteration of the Monster Hunter franchise. Some have been more unusual than others, like those that have tie-ins to popular pizza chains. Overall, they have been warmly received by the community as they add content to already wonderful games and allow players to dress up their hunters like favorite characters from other franchises.

It's unfortunate that these events are leaving. No one likes it when content leaves a game. That being said, when these kinds of deals are reached, it's usually only for a limited time, which Capcom was very upfront about when launching them. Monster Hunter World is arguably one of the best entries in the series and Iceborne was a dense expansion that added a significant amount of content to the game. For those looking for a reason to get back into it, a ticking clock and unique armor sets are two very good reasons.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
