Adventure Update components coming to Minecraft XBLA, eventually

It may not be the next update (that's scheduled to be an Xbox approximation of Beta version 1.7.3, which adds pistons), but at some point the XBLA version of Minecraft will be brought up to parity with PC version 1.8, also known as the Adventure Update.

"There are no big architecture changes with the move to 1.7.3, so it's been quite straightforward. The move to 1.8.2 is much more challenging," 4J Studios co-founder Paddy Burns told OXM. "We are working with Daniel Kaplan at Mojang to define what is going in to the Xbox version, but the aim is to include as many of the PC features that make sense on the Xbox as possible. The game isn't Minecraft on the Xbox, it is Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, so it isn't really a direct port of the PC game."

When the Adventure Update went live last on PCs September, it introduced the Endermen, several new kinds of building materials, a new mode specifically designed for free-form creation (dubbed "Creative mode"), as well as more minor changes to combat mechanics and the introduction of a food system.

Ant I'll stick to tekkit thanks, haven't played the xbox version in weeks.
chill the game hasn't had the "weeks" feel yet... plus presonally i think people should just chill out and not no life the game thats why they get so bored...

This is why minecraft for xbox was a fail no texture packs custom skins not creative mode or hardcore mode nothing.Pc will all ways be the best.

1.7.3 is coming out in the summer. That isn't even a big update for the PC. I would say around September/October will be the release of this update.

Ska I personally believe they should have never sold this game as outdated as it was. They have up to a certain version on pc and this is where it should have started on xbox.

They would have to re-code a lot of it. Minecraft is a pretty CPU intensive game and getting it to run smoothly on xbox as updated as it is on pc would be hard without redoing most of it.

So they couldn't have waited awhile longer to code it and actually finish the game? Nope they wanted that money now.


I would rather play the game as it is now than wait another 6 months.

As people have said, running a PC version of minecrft on xbox would probably blow it up lol, but that isnt to say they could maybe add certain things such as hunger and texture packs. And maybe better multiplayer.
