Shortly after being granted bail, Dotcom suggested that Washington was to blame for the Megaupload raid, insinuating that the shutdown was a "gift" to Hollywood and the MPAA. Dotcom and his team have spent the intervening months looking into the U.S. government's motivations. Dotcom claims that the Megaupload case was discussed in June of 2011 at a meeting in the West Wing of the White House, with multiple Hollywood executives in attendance.
