Windows 8 getting 'late October' release

Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system will be launched to consumers in 'late October'.

So confirmed Tami Reller, corporate vice president of Windows, to partners attending Microsoft's worldwide partner conference in Toronto.
The OS will be released to manufacturing in the first week of August, and business users will get it around the same time, with those versions going out "as early as the beginning of August", according to MS (via ZDNet).

Video game support is expected to be a major part of the new OS, with MS having announced the integration of Xbox Live into the platform, and speculation that it may be capable of playing Xbox 360 games.

Its too much like the xbox dashboard in a way.


I know right. Microsoft needs to come up with some new idea's. They base every thing off of their windows phone. The xbox dashboard windows 8 and the Phone. C'mon microsoft think of something new.


The think there design is user friendly and "Cool" even though it's really not :|

It looks like something apple would have made. Something thats more Play oriented.MS should worry about making the next windows something people could sit down and get the job done on :)

I also like the layout also.


The layout looks like something touch screen. I would probably install a skin but I know what happens when you install a skin. Your computer needs to be taken to a proffesional.
