Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell has wadded in on the Wii U performance argument to declare Nintendo's new console as "definitely more than Xbox 360 and PS3".

CEO Jeremiah Slaczka said in the latest issue of Game Informer that the Wii U is "definitely more powerful than Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3".
He went on, "It's kind of frustrating to see the rumours and speculation of people going back and forth saying it's weaker or more powerful. It's definitely more powerful."

Developers' responses to question over Wii U's technical abilities have been mixed, but most seem confident that the new console will at least match (if not outperform) current HD consoles.

Microsoft has however, predictably played down the Wii U's appeal saying it's "effectively a 360 when you think of graphical capability".
