Microsoft: Xbox Live security strengthened, started with spring update

4.7
Despite Microsoft working to ensure the security of its Xbox Live network, the company has encouraged users to check their security information and update their passwords in a community blog post today. It's a cruel (virtual) world out there, folks.

It's all part of new security measures that Microsoft is employing, measures that began with the spring update issued last month. The update helped Microsoft "build on security enhancements for the near future," says Xbox Live general manager Alex Garden.

Xbox Live took its share of security lumps this year, including claims of a FIFA hack and purported Windows Live ID problems. In the community post, Microsoft also provides some general internet security tips – in case you didn't know it was a bad idea to use the same password for every site you've ever logged onto.

T0xic8ear I change my email every other month, I hope its enough to keep hackers away.

Changing your Email every month is good but i'm just gonna stick to changing my passwords since it's seems to be working fine.

I do both every other month. One month it is my email and the other it is my password.I also make my passwords extremely long and i doubt it is possible to guess.

I never change my Email and password. Just because my password is 12 digits long and consists of numbers and letters mixed together lol

I think changing your passwords every few months is a good idea. You never know if someone is trying to get your account. It's good to see that they're working harder on their security.

I have many Passwords on Many sites based on Similar words. Some the same, Some Minor Changes, and Some totally different. Either way, if somebody found out one of my passwords, they'd only be able to get into maybe one other of my accounts on another site.

But yet we can still ISO mod NUMEROUS amounts of games, including games involving a free roam game mode, which makes the mods more fun. Also, how did this guy in the picture get a white theme for his dashboard?

The only way to get hacked on fifa is to give away your information but everyone hides behind their pride and say they got hacked.
