Halo 4 beats Black Ops 2 in 'most anticipated' list - Nielson

Could Call of Duty's dominance of the FPS market be waning? Possibly, according to a recent survey which names Halo 4 as 2012's most highly anticipated game on Xbox 360 above the mighty Black Ops 2.

The results of the Nielson survey says that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the most anticipated game on PS3, but not on Microsoft's console, on which Halo 4 takes the top spot forcing Activision's FPS powerhouse to settle for second.
From there on it's the usual suspects on both platforms; Assassin's Creed 3, Madden NFL 13, Darksiders 2 and Resident Evil 6 fill the upper slots as you would expect.

Nielsen collated the results from the survey answers of 4,823 male and female "active gamers" between the ages 7 to 54 collected throughout the month of June - to tie in with game announcement at E3.

5000 people is hardly the most all-encompassing figure, but enough to get a general lay of the land.

Wii gamers voted Just Dance 4 as their most anticipated, but they don't exactly have much to choose from.

VEVO Lol. They actually let 7 year olds put in their opinion on an FPS that they shouldn't even be playing? And I don't see how under 5000 people is an actual feasible figure to state it's the most anticipated game. They need to do some sort of online poll or something.

Please tell me where I was freaking out exactly? I just said I don't see this as feasible data. You can't base a group of 5000 people to the other millions of gamers out there. And I never stated COD anywhere so don't bring that up as if you knew my thoughts. I do play CoD but I play Battlefield and GTA way more than that.

This actually is a feasible figure, there's something called proportions. Do you actually think that they just so happened to stumble upon a group of 5000 people that liked Halo more than Call of Duty? If you want the survey done "right", go do it yourself.

well since you had 7-12year olds there, that kinda whacked black ops 2. cuz ik,was i remember when the first halo came out, best game ever. and due to alot of younger children loving halo,that kinda defeated black ops. and due to new advancements to halo like you have forge and theater while black ops has zombies. and obviously if theres forge,there gonna be a group of kids role playing in halo4, (which is pretty f*cking dumb)while in black ops its really just a run-around-shoot-em-up(which is obviously BETTER than role playing after you build a bk out of walls that ae at some crazy *ss degree). I could careless which game is better. i prefer resident evil 6 all the way! and besides to many call of duties have been made. theres nothing new besides one game mode and a couple extra guns and more gay prestiges. But halo,everyone in that game is either a little 8year old or someone in there 20's.



I do alot of babysitting, they usually come over to my place and i have most of the cod series and all of the halo series. the younger children ALWAYS choose cod and the older kids usually choose halo. While halo may be very Sifi and cartoony, it is still a game based more on skill, while cod is "spray and pray". I also agree that the ages may have been messed up a bit but i guess they cant exactly say Halo will be the most anticipated game since a rather large portion of the gaming community is the "underage" gammer


Spray and pray?! COD?!? You can even fuking aim down the sights on halo. I've loved halo and cod since they started. and underage? I play search and this is what I come up with. 17 year old douchbags and 12 year old brats. and lemme guess how old you are. 14, maybe 15? GTFO.

i actually don't know why there is a flame war between who will sell more .I think both will do pretty well and make a good amount of money . I'm going to buy halo 4 first , but ill probably buy BO 2 next. I've been with both games from the start. cod 1 and halo 1 . I like them both. kthxbai

This could be due to Master Chief returning, and Halo isn't released every year like call of duty, so next year if there is a call of duty, it will be number 1, unless they rush a halo out there.
