Halo 4 beats Black Ops 2 in 'most anticipated' list - Nielson

Could Call of Duty's dominance of the FPS market be waning? Possibly, according to a recent survey which names Halo 4 as 2012's most highly anticipated game on Xbox 360 above the mighty Black Ops 2.

The results of the Nielson survey says that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the most anticipated game on PS3, but not on Microsoft's console, on which Halo 4 takes the top spot forcing Activision's FPS powerhouse to settle for second.
From there on it's the usual suspects on both platforms; Assassin's Creed 3, Madden NFL 13, Darksiders 2 and Resident Evil 6 fill the upper slots as you would expect.

Nielsen collated the results from the survey answers of 4,823 male and female "active gamers" between the ages 7 to 54 collected throughout the month of June - to tie in with game announcement at E3.

5000 people is hardly the most all-encompassing figure, but enough to get a general lay of the land.

Wii gamers voted Just Dance 4 as their most anticipated, but they don't exactly have much to choose from.

why the hell not man there is going to be sooo many things you can do on that game its going to be insane and probably beat halo in the sales

I respect that it's your opinion but I don't see how you can label a game as a "nerd game".


Because it's sci-fi.

Stereotypical 'nerd' is sci-fi orientated stuff.

Regardless of that fact, to trash on a game because of it's Genre is a moronic thing to do. There are other games that are not CoD and are great games. I'm sorry if I seem like the **** here, but I didn't pay $300 for my Xbox to JUST play CoD.


He's just mad he's bad at Halo. He probably is one of the camping noobs in CoD and goes tryhard against the little kids. CoD has ruined the FPS genre because of all the fanboys. The CoD fanboys give no other games any chance and immediately give one answer and only the answer of CoD. CoD has not really changed over the past few years and it is just a repeat of last years online. I want to see some major changes unlike the minor perk swaps. Halo is not a nerd game, I would say it's the reason Xbox has the amount of gamers that it has. People need to open their eyes and see how there is more than just CoD.


The creators of CoD wanted to make money. Bungie wanted to make an amazing game. Xbox and Xbox Live wouldn't be where it is today without it. When Halo first came out it was criticized because it was an FPS on a console infact but the critics were proved wrong.
CoD may sell more copies but it doesn't mean it's a better game.

TimeSplitters Why does everyone care for the zombies so much, look at the multiplayer: new weapons, killstreaks, equipment I mean come on. It's not all about the zombies, it's going to be good but you have to look at the other things besides saying oh zombies i'm only getting on there just for you. And look at campaign, stuff you haven't did in other cods. so if you only going for zombies then don't buy the game, why play 1 thing when you have 2 other choices to make your money worth it was spent for. constant things get boring, especially zombies after round 30.


Umm. Look at all the CoDs... They basically had all new weapons, killstreaks... They need to be more basic not more advanced like Failops 2. Equipment. Mw3 and black ops brought in new equipment. Most stuff you said has changed. Zombies will be the only thing I think that will actually change and that's why people want it.
This year Halo>Black ops 2 I hope.
