In what seems to be another attempt to drill that point into the minds of players, a new report from The Verge reveals that Spencer wrote a letter to PlayStation boss Jim Ryan, in which he promised that global shooter franchise would remain on PlayStation for “several more years” past Sony’s current deal with Activision.
“In January, we provided a signed agreement to Sony to guarantee Call of Duty on PlayStation, with feature and content parity, for at least several more years beyond the current Sony contract, an offer that goes well beyond typical gaming industry agreements.”
Now Spencer doesn’t elaborate what happens after those “several” years, which does leave it open to debate as to whether or not it ever will become exclusive.
But it does seem clear that PlayStation players can trust to see the franchise stay on the platform for the next few years.
