Halo 4 leak: Microsoft perma-banning early players

Microsoft is reportedly issuing permanent Xbox Live bans to users found to be playing Halo 4 ahead of its official launch.

"During your suspension, you will not be able to log into Xbox Live," reads the Microsoft messaging sent to some members of the Reddit community. "Your Xbox Live privileges will not be reinstated."
Halo franchise director Frank O'Connor said over the weekend that he was unsurprised by the recent Halo 4 leak, which has seen copies of the game sneak into the wild almost a month ahead of the Halo 4 release date of November 6.

Microsoft said last week that it's "working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation".

Game early = modified Xbox. The terms of use state if you modified your Xbox you'd be permanently banned. It's not harsh, they should be following the rules.


having a game early dosnt mean you have a modded xbox.

Dude its not having a modded xbox on xbox live that gets you banned well not so far anyway, its just people playing games before official release, Think about it so far Microsoft have not been able to detect the modified firmware on peoples DVD drives but when someone plays a game weeks before release and its saved on there profile then Microsoft know its a pirate copy and there for know you are running modified firmware on your DVD drive in order to play that copy then that's the evidence they need to ban your console.



So you wont get banned for having a flashed console on xbox live as long as you don't play leaked games early wait till release then play it on your flashed console and you will be fine :)
