Facebook and Twitter removed from Xbox 360 dash

Microsoft has removed Facebook and Twitter apps from the new Xbox 360 dashboard update that emerged on consoles earlier this week.

According to The Verge a source familiar with the matter indicated that the decision was made in order to encourage users to use newly introduced Internet Explorer
Although both social networking apps are still prominently displayed on the official Xbox website, they are no longer available to download through the marketplace.

Consoles that had Facebook and Twitter installed prior to the update can continue to use them, but new users will have to turn to the browser.

Well it doesnt really make a difference does it you can still access both so you can just on IE

nope, can't download anything from IE. I have a theory that someone with an RGH or a JTAG will figure out how to be able to download anything. That'll make pirating and modding so much easier.

Yeah, the apps are usually built for the system, but lack a lot of stuff from the browser version.

I have yet to get the update and it's been over a day. Anyone on the same boat?


My friends and I've had this update for like the last 2 weeks, so idk exactly when everyone will actually have the update.
