The announcement from one of the channel moderators reads, "We understand that many of you have been eagerly waiting for the release of this game, and we want to thank you for your patience and support throughout the development process. We have been working hard to ensure that the game meets our high standards, and we are confident that it will be worth the wait."
"As we get closer to the release date, we will be conducting a beta test for the game. This will give players the opportunity to try out the game before it is released and provide valuable feedback that we can use to improve the final product."
But the announcement don't stop there, as a follow-up message goes on to confirm that Fntastic has every intention of bringing the title back to steam. "And for those wondering if the game [is] gonna be on Steam, it should be on Steam, yes. Team is working on it [sic]." For those out of the loop, The Day Before was removed from Steam due to a rather bizarre trademark issue, whilst also being hit with a nine-month delay too.
Originally scheduled to be launched in March of this year, Fntastic delayed the release date to November 10th due to a trademark issue, saying "Right before the release, Steam blocked our game page at the request of a private individual, because of the name The Day Before." What makes this copyright dispute bizarre is that Fntastic hadn't actually secured the trademark for their own game, despite being a matter of months away from release at the time of the delay.
Unfortunately, The Day Before's controversy doesn't stop there either. After being forced to deny allegations that the whole game was a "scam," Fntastic released a 10-minute gameplay trailer, but fans were quick to draw similarities to a trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, with many of the shots being a near-perfect remake.
There's no word on exactly when The Day Before will host its beta test, but assuming that there are no further delays, we may finally get actual proof that the game exists in the coming months.
