Star Wars Jedi Survivor PC Release Slammed For Woeful Performance

3.8
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor seems to have major bugs and performance issues on PC, with some players claiming that the game is prone to screen tearing and crushing on higher settings. There's even reports of performance issues on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S too.

The release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was highly anticipated, with Respawn Entertainment having fueled the hype by showcasing various new gameplay elements in the build-up to the game's launch. However, Survivor seems to be struggling with major optimization issues on PC, with some players claiming that they can't make it past the loading screen. YouTuber Skill Up claimed on Twitter that the game's PC port is a total mess and FPS performance can't be improved through any settings.

Many reviews claimed that a day-one patch would likely rectify many performance issues, but shortly after its release, all of the issues mentioned in early reviews were still present, as players are now voicing their frustration over major FPS issues and terrible optimization that prevent them from playing the game smoothly.

Some players can only get around 30 FPS even with an RTX 4090 GPU and Intel Core i9 processor, with others reporting that they are stuck between 35-40 FPS regardless of which settings they're playing on. A player who goes by Karnatia on Steam claimed that even their RTX 3080 is not good enough to run the game. Another player also reported that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is extremely blurry if you turn off the AMD version of DLSS.

There have been multiple reports claiming that PC players will experience major FPS drops during large combat sections. Not only on PC, but the game has also serious performance issues across all platforms, including the PlayStation 5. The most troubling part is that players can't even just lower their graphical settings, as performance issues are still reportedly persisting.

Twitter user Denuvo Alerts compiled a few reviews for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor mentioning horrible performance issues, with players reporting that even RTX 4090 can get you around 45 fps. Some people are also touching on inconsistent frame rates and stutters they have been experiencing since launch.

Jokingly dubbed as 'Star Wars CPU Survivor', the game seems to have shader compilation stutters when something new appears on the screen. What makes it worse is that performance issues can't be improved through any settings changes.

As for my own personal experience with the game, I can barely get around 40 FPS with an RTX 2080 graphics card and CPU Ryzen 7 2700. Though it is not a top high-end build, the game should run smoothly without any performance issues, as its recommended PC specs include an RTX 2070 and Ryzen 5 5600X. Besides, constant stutters and terrible TAA implementation that makes everything look muddy are other issues you will experience during your PC playthrough.

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have already announced via Twitter they will bring new patches to fix performance issues, but confirmation on when they will be released is yet to be made clear.
