Sony is now issuing Perma-Bans to PSN hackers

Sony is warning its Playstation 3 Users that anyone caught using the recently released modified software on their Playstation 3 units could face being Perma-Banned

Sony has issued a consumer alert to its PSN users informing them that “Unauthorised software for the Playstation 3 system was recently released by hackers” and that “Use of such software violates the terms of the ‘System Software License Agreement for the Playstation 3 System’ and the ‘Terms of Services and User Agreement’”

“To avoid permanent termination, consumers must immediately cease using and delete all unauthorised or pirated software from their Playstation 3 systems”

It seems unclear from this statement whether these Perma-Bans will be blocking users from connecting to the Playstation Network or if Sony will be console banning the offending Playstation’s.

1. Millions of PSN Users do it it will take days to pin point the hackers and ban em

2. Why do it now? they could have done it a while ago.

3. i think its just a way for Sony to scare newbie psn hackers to thinking 'im gunna get banned, im not going to hack'.

And the idea for having to pay for PSN is ****. It will just anger hackers and make normal psn users suffer.

Or they will implement a system like Microsoft has and as soon as the system detects the unauthorized software you are immediately banned. You sound like you think hackers run psn. When they don't.

I'm glad to see psn finally getting cleaned up, maybe it's worth getting back on psn instead of having a 300$ blu-ray player getting used once a month.
