Black Ops 2: Nuketown 2025 map pulled from online playlists

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map 'Nuketown 2025' - a fan favourite - has been pulled from online multiplayer playlists.

Update: Treyarch has reinstated Nuketown 2025 due to "popular demand" in a new "fast-action playlist in the Bonus category called Chaos Moshpit". Game design director David Vonderhaar said the Chaos Moshpit playlist has Carrier, Cargo, Express, Hijacked, Slums, Standoff, and Nuketown 2025 in the rotation.
Vonderhaar said Treyarch has no current plans to introduce Nuketown 2025 in the regular playlists as it would "fragment matchmaking really poorly at this stage". However, "it will be back as a single map playlist for Double XP weekends or other events. It's how we've always done it."

Original story continues: Posting via Twitter, game design director David Vonderhaar confirmed, "Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don't kill the messenger."

Essentially, this means that the Nuketown playlist has been removed, and the map has not been put into circulation with other maps in regular playlists.

In a subsequent post, Vonderhaar goes on to explain that Nuketown 2025 will only be back for "special events".

"Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games," he said.

The Nuketown 2025 map - a remake of Black Ops favourite Nuketown - was offered as a redeemable DLC map to those who pre-ordered the game and, was assumed to be permanently available for online play, not as an 'events-only' temporary map.

I agree and disagree. I do agree on the part where people are getting angry. It's not like they paid more for the map, they just paid before everyone else. Such an inconvenience right? NO. But I disagree on the second part. The only map I like besides Nuketown, would be Plaza and that map on the boat. All the other ones are bad for me. That's why I just play zombies.

im sure like people have paid to get 24/7 nuketown. my friend brought the code the day it got pulled out. its not fair!

They should just leave the map in normal rotation. There's no point having the map if it's only playable in private match.

baseballwinner I'm laughing at all these comments. Their so ignorant. Ok first treyarch never said that they were going to make a nuketown 2025 playlist map. And second. I have no clue what you guys are talking about, they took nuketown 2025 playlist off. But you guys are saying things like: now we can't play it, or something similiar to that. You can still play it but there's not going to be a playlist with only nuketown 2025 unless they release a double xp weekend. So hence treyarch only lied in the description of the playlist. Saying "we never close". That's about the only thing they lied to you about. So quit complaining and enjoy the game or actually get a life, a girlfriend, and your own house (not your moms basement). Plus I can see from their point of view why they might've taken it out. They probably saw people prestiging so quickly because of double xp weekend & nuketown 2025 map combined. If you add those two together, you can get tons and tons of xp.
I'm laughing at the wall of text i have to read. Good think i'm not reading it.


every commercial said "preoder now and get the nuketown 2025 map" not "get the nuketown 3035 map for a week". False advertising.
