Xbox has launched its first game on GeForce Now

Microsoft has today begun rolling out its games on GeForce Now.

Gears 5 is the first Xbox Game Studios title to be added to Nvidia’s cloud gaming service. It will be joined by Deathloop, Grounded and Pentiment on May 25.

In February, Microsoft announced a 10-year partnership with Nvidia to bring its Xbox PC games to GeForce Now.

The deal will also see Activision Blizzard games like Call of Duty released on the cloud gaming service should Microsoft’s bid to acquire the World of Warcraft publisher be approved by regulators.

The move enables gamers to stream eligible Xbox and Bethesda PC titles purchased through Steam or Epic Games Store from GeForce Now to PCs, macOS, Chromebooks, smartphones and other devices.

Support for games purchased through the Microsoft Store is expected to be added in the coming months.

Microsoft has recently signed a handful of game distribution agreements designed to allay regulatory concerns over its proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

“This is the first in a series of partnerships we’re activating to make our PC games available to players globally through a variety of cloud gaming services, starting with Nvidia GeForce Now, and with Boosteroid, Ubitus, EE and Nware in the future,” said Xbox’s Sarah Bond.

According to Nvidia, the GeForce Now library includes over 1,600 games, with new titles added each Thursday. In addition to Gears 5, Tin Hearts and The Outlast Trials were made available today.
