Rumor: MW2 recalled in Russia due to 'No Russian' scene

The console version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has allegedly been recalled in Russia due to the controversial "No Russian" scene. Hellforge's translation of a Russian report claims that a censored console version will be released later this month in the region, and that an official patch removing the scene from PC and Steam versions is en route. It would seem that the choice of killing innocent Russian civilians in the scene isn't one that the government would like to leave up to players.
To make sure this report stays as "fair and balanced" as possible, we've contacted Activision and Infinity Ward for comment. Any Russia-based readers that can shed a little bit more light on the situation should feel free to contact us.

I have beat the game and before you start the mission it asked you if you want to skip the mission or not so if the scene isn't cut out for some reason they can skip it if they want and i have played that mission once or twice i think it will make russians a little scared to go to an airport so they can skip the mission if they want.

wow!! honsestly there was no reason for that mission to be put in that game!!! i love the campaign but IW was a little rasist while puting in that mission. i do notice that the russians are killing the civilians.

tbh i see where there coming from put its nothing tht serious to make a hissy fit about they just literally will do anything to have an argument with america this is jus childish in my opninion and why are they bothered in the game they get there own back anyway they destroy half of russia ffs dunooo why they called 'mother' russia when they act like 4 year olds

The Mission isn't really pointless, It tells you some of the story behind everything that is happening.

this level wasnt just something IW threw in the game. this scene is what started the war .

I can see this being offensive but if you think about it 1.you can skip it 2.its just a game 3.it shows how bad terriorists are.

This is , well in my eyes slightly ridiculous, some people do get the wrong end of the stick though sometimes.

We all know that actually, they shouldn't have put that in, because lets face it, if the russians did a versian about us we wouldn't be greatly pleased.

I think they shouldn't have really done this, A because it cranked it up to an 18. But there not racist I dont think

i understand sort of...but like really...1 its a game. and 2 its about war...we want it to be modern hence the name modern warfare and number 2...so what can we do but put a country in there..we cant make up countrys or it wont be modern...and its war,terrorists,and more...there bombers in the usa, and everywere, just in this game this really good terrorist comes from russia..and its not like it was a bad mission because of the fact u were a spy trying to save millions by killing a little amount of ppl...PLUS ITS A GAME...the guy isnt real and 4 ppl could never servive that long..in real life u get shot once ur out..u take mulitple bullets,plus recoshaing off the shields...ur screwed..so they're government needs to calm down a little
