Sony release Black Friday sales figures

After hearing Microsoft boasting about selling 750,000 Xbox units over the Black Friday period, Sony have finally released their sales figures.

Sony announced that they have sold more than 525,000 PlayStation 3 consoles and over 160,000 PS Vita units. Sony noted that compared to last year's sales, Bundled pack sales were up 15% and the sales of the PS3, software and peripherals were up by 9%.

The biggest selling bundle pack for Sony was the 'Ultimate PlayStation Value Bundle' which included a 250GB PS3, Uncharted Dual Pack and inFAMOUS collection for $199. Sony say that this favourite bundle deal "quickly sold out at retailers across the US."

In addition to hardware sales, Sony commented on the growing PlayStation Plus service, which the company said saw subscriptions jump 259 percent compared to last year's Black Friday period.

As for Vita, Sony claim that Amazon sold all of their specific Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Bundle (as sold for $199) in less than five hours.

exactly what i said i like ps3 for the games that i cant get on xbox that is the only reason

Microsoft and Sony are on the same level. if ps3 had party chat and a better security system then ps3 would be better. there are pros and cons to both systems. dont judge sony for the mistakes they have made with ps3. sony has allowed people to run os like Linux and microsoft won't and to be honest i have a XBOX and have since 2008 and i got my ps3 in 2008 also. and i can tell you ps3 is a little bit better so guys STOP WITH THE CONSOLE WARS.

You go from saying the are the same, to saying one is better, how does that work? And Sony removed the ability to install an alt OS from PS3 a while back, so that is irrelevant

because people abused the power of what sony allowed them to have access t and its not irrelevant if micrsoft will not even allow you to install anything. and you didn't get what i was trying to say i was putting out the pros for sony so these kids talking about xbox would have somthing to think about and XBOX AND PS3 Are THE SAME JUST DIFFERENT MENUS

I don't think you quite understand that you are stepping on your own argument. An of course you cant install anything on your xbox, there is a reason mods are far less common and our network hasn't been shut down.

You go gurl!, but in a serious note. His correct, first you say that both consoles are the same with pro's and cons, then you go ahead and say that the ps3 is better.
Second, how are they the same but menu's? Do you have any idea what your talking about? - First go look at the hardware then look at the firmware. They are completely different, Each console is made for a different type of gamer, if your like me and like online play such as COD,BF,or any other massive online game you would go with xbox. If your a gamer who likes solo games,exclusives, and won't be playing online most of the time you should most likely get a PS3.

GS3 Hmmm.. if my calculations are correct, Microsoft still outsold Sony while selling only one item whereas Sony were selling multiple! :)

you must be dumb there are multile xbox 360s kid theres the slim and the fat and different kinds of fat xbox 360s like the arcade pro or elite so no xbox did not only sell one kind of unit

Its still one console tho,sony sold that with 2 completely different gaming device.

python,he is talking about the black friday sales, only xbox slims vs ps3 and psvita is his point.and to add to your "argument" sony sold the fat and slim versions of ps3 and also had different hhd variations similar to ms,so that point of ms having many 360 models is invalid.

They Don't sell the elite any more and theres only the slim and arcade being sold
