Crimson Map Pack banning players?

Some players that downloaded the Crimson Map Pack for Halo 4 have been reporting issues such as being perma-banned from Halo 4 Matchmaking.

Last week there were reports that the Halo 4 DLC had been put onto Xbox Live for free, players are unsure whether these bans are related to that event.

343 Industries said via the Halo Waypoint forum: "We are not permanently banning players for previewing or purchasing the Crimson Map Pack. We are currently investigating the recent reports of permanent matchmaking bans.”
"We will provide further updates tomorrow. Thank you for your patience."

We'll update you when 343 or Microsoft have announced the cause of these bans.

[ UPDATE ]343 Industries have posted a comment via Halo Waypoint saying:

"There was a situation yesterday (Sunday) in which less than 200 Halo 4 users were being incorrectly banned from accessing certain parts of the game (not banned from Xbox LIVE as a whole), and we have since resolved the issue. All players accounts impacted are working as normal."

well if i get banned ima rant cuz i accidently downloaded the map pack, but i barelly play crimson dlc online anyway so i should be good.

I don't think it's right that they get banned. If they got it for free then it's not their fault, it's Microsoft's fault.

The bans will most likely be reversed.. and it was good that they let us test out the maps, even if it wasn't intentional because it gave us a look at the maps so if we want to buy them, we will.

Since I have all the achievements for Crimson, I won't be buying them. When it get cuts to 400 MSP in a special (Which'll be sometime next year) I'll buy it.. not for right now though.

You don't get the Crimson Map Pack for free, if you didn't buy it or get Limited Edition than it will be reset on the 18th, tomorrow.

Thlack Hasnt happened to me yet but I still would have gotten it for free because I bought legendary edition. Still concerns me though.

I don't own Halo, but it said it was free so I got it just in case I get halo in the future lol. I hope I don't get banned before I even get the game.

Microsoft did say they were taking the blame.
I wouldn't blame the people who got the map pack for free to get banned.
I was simply microsoft fault that had a bug in getting the map pack for free
